COCKPIT
AVIONICS
AVIONICS
The Challenger 300 aircraft's Pro Line 21 Advanced avionics suite has business aviation's most advanced Flight Management System and is equipped to maximize operational flexibility and reduce crew workload. The fully-integrated functions and technologies combine to further elevate situational awareness and operational efficiencies, and appreciably raise aircraft value retention.
The Challenger 300 aircraft's avionics suite is baseline equipped for the future with dual IRSs, LPV and other RNP approaches, and the groundbreaking MultiScan™ weather radar, the best radar technology currently available. Additionally, Bombardier is the only original equipment manufacturer in the class to include the Synthetic Vision System (SVS) as part of baseline equipment. The cockpit also provides new optional features for increased operational flexibility and efficiency, and compliance with upcoming NextGen and SESAR regulations (RNP AR 0.3, CPDLC & ADS-C).
- New baseline Synthetic Vision System, dual IRSs, and groundbreaking MultiScan™ weather radar
- Traffic Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) to the latest enhanced safety standards
- Enhanced situational awareness through integration of SVS, MultiScan™ weather radar, and terrain warning systems on integrated display
INTEGRATED FLIGHT INFORMATION SYSTEM
INTEGRATED FLIGHT INFORMATION SYSTEM
The Integrated Flight Information System (IFIS) is an invaluable pilot tool for high-quality flight information. IFIS provides a comprehensive electronic chart display designed to improve situational awareness—including on the taxiway, as well as during departure, approach, and landing—reducing pilot workload and enhance flight deck efficiency. Additional features, such as a Class 1 iPad Electronic Flight Bag, render the cockpit virtually paperless.
MULTISCAN™ WEATHER RADAR
MULTISCAN™ WEATHER RADAR
Considered the best weather radar system in the industry, this groundbreaking technology with corrective algorithm and automatic operation (tilt and gain) facilitates weather data interpretation to greatly improve pilot awareness for tactical flight decisions, reducing pilot workload and increasing passenger comfort by avoiding bad weather cells.
SYNTHETIC VISION SYSTEM (SVS)
SYNTHETIC VISION SYSTEM (SVS)
Provided as the only baseline SVS in the super-midsize segment, it enhances safety and situational awareness in all flight conditions. Particularly useful during night approaches into unfamiliar or challenging airports.
DUAL IRS
DUAL IRS
This most reliable navigation system increases system redundancy to allow aircraft on transoceanic flights to continue even after GPS failure.
MOST ADVANCED FLIGHT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (FMS)
MOST ADVANCED FLIGHT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (FMS)
Cutting-edge FMS technology provides the latest navigation capabilities (LPV, RNP). Its worldwide database supports growth over time to store new airport data, approach and en- route maps, as they are released.
MORE INTUITIVE PRIMARY FLIGHT DISPLAY (PFD)
MORE INTUITIVE PRIMARY FLIGHT DISPLAY (PFD)
The new PFD features display ergonomic enhancements that make it even easier for pilots to visualize critical flight information, such as normalized Angle of Attack (AOA) and Total Air Temperature (TAT). Situational awareness is further improved with a full width ADI display, while the Flight Path Vector (FPV) allows the crew to easily anticipate any potential trajectory deviation.
FANS 1/A+ (CPDLC & ADS-C) —OPTIONAL
FANS 1/A+ (CPDLC & ADS-C) —OPTIONAL
Facilitates more efficient Air Traffic Control-to-pilot communications in remote areas, allowing access to preferred oceanic corridors for shorter flights and resulting fuel efficiencies.
RNP AR 0.3 — OPTIONAL
RNP AR 0.3 — OPTIONAL
Saves time by improving access to congested airports and runways, allowing greater flexibility of operations resulting from faster landing clearances, shorter approach routes and the resulting fuel economies. Also typically provides more fuel efficient and lower minima approach procedures, plus fuel efficient and higher MTOW departure procedures, at airports with challenging surrounding terrain.
SMARTRUNWAY® AND SMARTLANDING® —OPTIONAL
SMARTRUNWAY® AND SMARTLANDING® —OPTIONAL
SmartRunway® and SmartLanding® improve safety and situational awareness by providing timely aural and visual alerts to the flight crew when threats are detected (for example runways incursion or excursions) or if the aircraft is not configured properly (for example incorrect flap setting).
SmartRunway® is the next generation upgrade of the Runway Awareness and Advisory System (RAAS) and prevents the aircraft from entering the wrong taxiway or using the incorrect runway for takeoff.
SmartLanding ® is designed to provide timely alerts to crew members when the aircraft is approaching the runway too high or too fast.
AIRCRAFT SYSTEMS
All of the Challenger 300 aircraft systems are designed to reliably and automatically shift the workload away from busy pilots. They are engineered for absolute simplicity to ensure ease of service, reduced downtime and lower maintenance costs.
These efficient and accessible systems reflect the priority Bombardier places on both safety and problem-free maintenance:
- Avionics components are located behind the cockpit for easy access
- The hot-air, anti-ice system reduces pilot workload, increases reliability and reduces maintenance costs
- Standard thrust reversers minimize brake wear and reduce stopping distance
- Environmental Control System ensures back-up pressurization
- Fuel carried in the wing reduces pilot workload and speeds refueling for quicker turnaround time
- Built-in stall protection
